2021

100-Year Anniversary

In 2021, CCC celebrates its 100-year anniversary. From a tent revival to a network of churches, innovative resources, and parachurch organizations that have city-wide and world-wide impact, the CCC story is a testimony to God’s faithfulness in the past, present, and future.

2019

Uncomfortable Podcast

With a spirit of reaching the emerging generation, CCC pressed forward to grow their reach online. In 2019 the Uncomfortable Podcast was launched with a purpose of building dialogue around areas where faith and culture intersect. Having grown to nearly 500 weekly listeners, Uncomfortable has built a safe community where believers and skeptics can foster conversations, dialogue, and critical thinking about topics and challenges in today's culture from a Christian perspective.

2018

Within Reach

Within Reach is launched, establishing a network of over thirty churches working to unleash unprecedented compassion on the Omaha metro to connect people to God and develop an emerging generation of high-impact city leaders.

2017

Beyond Belief

God takes CCC to new places through helping people develop a deeper walk with Christ and reaching unprecedented numbers of people around the world.

CCC launches a church residency program and plants churches in Omaha.

CCC impacts the world through multimillion-dollar funding for partnerships in countries we’ve codenamed El Dorado and Gold Kingdom, and through international workers who are funded through the C&MA’s Great Commission Fund.

2014

The Porch at Old Mill

God brings a new vision and a new building into the fold at CCC. The Porch is designed to reach the city through CityCare Counseling, Crown College Omaha, expanded ministry space, and room for ministry-minded organizations.

2012

Online Ministry

When originally launched, CCC's online campus was ahead of its time and set the foundation for what was to later impact the entire world. From innovation in weekly services, to opening up our studio space and equipment for other local churches, God continued to use CCC to build the Church during a worldwide pandemic in 2020. Our mission to reach one more was realized in unexpected ways through TV broadcasts in prison ministry and YouTube videos seen worldwide. By God's grace, CCC’s online reach continues to grow week after week, as does our commitment to reach all communities in the Omaha area and throughout the world with the good news of Jesus.

2010

Double Your Impact

God inspires a new era of growth for CCC through church planting, reaching the lost, renovating the Kids Ministry space, impacting Village One in North Omaha, and training pastors in countries in West Africa and the Far East.

2006

Gold Kingdom Project

Mark Ashton is called to lead CCC and bring an external focus to reaching the city and the world. Mark challenges the congregation to raise over a million dollars to help fund the building of a women and children’s hospital in Gold Kingdom, West Africa.

2006

An Ordinary Guy Who Serves an Extraordinary God

Mark Ashton joins CCC with a powerful vision to reach the city, the nation, and the world with the love of Christ. Mark brings with him worldwide expertise on subjects like introducing people to Jesus, helping churches become outward-focused, and leading area churches to collaborate with one another for greater gospel effectiveness.

Through his leadership, CCC has over 5,000 people who consider CCC their church home, and over 3,000 show up weekly for worship on-site and online. CCC has also seen dozens of churches—daughters and granddaughters of CCC—planted in Nebraska, Iowa, and Kansas, and international workers continue to be sent all over the world.

1982

Leadership Change

Bob Thune is called as Senior Pastor and leads for 22 years of ministry at the renamed Christ Community Church (CCC). Under his leadership, the campus expands to include the Family Life Center, Education Center, and Atrium.

1981

New Location

The church moves to its current location on 26 acres in Old Mill. The dream is that it will one day be a large regional church at the center of Omaha.

1964

Death of Founder

R. R. Brown passes away after over 41 years of fruitful ministry in Omaha.

1940s-1950s

Generous Giving

The Tab releases massive generosity toward world missions, a trait that continues today.

1938

First Building

The Omaha Gospel Tabernacle (The Tab) builds its first permanent home at 20th & Douglas. The building includes a radio studio, enabling Dr. Brown and his staff to broadcast directly from the church.

1923

Radio Ministry

R. R. Brown begins a Christian program on radio station W.O.W. This program airs every Sunday for forty years. Over time, the Sunday morning audience grows from 50,000 to 500,000 and is heard in a dozen states. At one time, this was the most listened-to radio program in the nation.

1921

Beginning of Church

A small group of believers invites R. R. Brown to evangelistic meetings at 24th & Binney. Through a heart to reach the city, Brown initiates tent meetings, drawing hundreds of people. The Browns move to Omaha to grow the movement.
