Adult Discipleship

Baptism Mentor

Help a baptism candidate as he or she makes the decision to go public with their faith in Jesus.

Connect Team

Help guests connect and identify their next step by providing a personal connection, information about the campus, Sunday services, group life, 101, and events.

College Leadership Team

The leadership team of 8:08 is a group of 18- to 23-year-olds who are committed to being in an intentional discipleship relationship, discipling others, and helping to serve and support the ministry of 8:08 College Community. This group has a desire to reach college students in Omaha with the gospel.

Choir & Worship Team

Help lead worship on Sunday mornings through the outward and joyful expression of choral music.

Social Media Team

Support the Social Media Team in conveying stories, vision, and community outside the church doors to those following CCC’s social media accounts. Extend God’s message of hope to a world of believers and unbelievers alike.

Serve on Sunday mornings with photo and video coverage of Sunday services, community interactions, and Next Generation Ministries
For those who are passionate about creative storytelling through photos, video, graphic design, and social media

Online Host

Provide a personal connection with those watching our Sunday services online, greet attenders, answer questions, share resources, and pray for people through on-on-one online prayer.

Sunday Morning Resource Booth Team

Prepare the Resource Booth and online store for sales.

The Sunday Morning Resource Booth Team greets attendees and sells CCC-branded apparel and merchandise, Bibles, and books.

Resource Booth Prep Team

The Resource Booth Prep Team will create an attractive display for the various items CCC sells, which includes folding/refolding and restocking merchandise, dusting shelves, and counting inventory each week.

Valuing prayer as the first and most vital activity of missions, and modeling it as individuals, teams, and the Church.

Seating Host

Create a comfortable environment for guests by welcoming them and offering assistance to find seating at the doors of the Worship Center, making engagement with the service both easy and distraction-free.

Info Desk

Create a comfortable environment by providing helpful information, clear directions, and up-to-date quality information with a warm smile and a desire to help in whatever way the congregant or guest needs.

Spiritual Formation

Stephen Minister

Help identify and mobilize the gifts of the Church body to meet the constantly growing needs for care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Be trained, commissioned, and supervised by Stephen Leaders to provide one-on-one Christian care to persons in need on behalf of the congregation
Be assigned to one care receiver at a time and meet with that person for about one hour each week
Serve for two years, which includes an initial fifty hours of training followed by twice-monthly supervision and continuing education sessions


Elder Care

Care Center Ministry: Upon satisfactory completion of the Silver Tsunami Ministry Training Course, assistance will be given to graduates in selecting a Care Center.
Homebound Members of Christ Community Church: Presently we have 90+ homebound known members at CCC.
Our hope is that the Silver Tsunami training will further equip those who visit, train many more people who are willing to visit and share the love of Christ with our homebound members.
Spiritual Care for Aging Parents, Grandparents, and friends: The Silver Tsunami course will provide help in how to share the Gospel with your loved ones.

Ministry Support

Benevolence Ministry Team

To show the love of Christ in tangible ways by providing food, clothing, shelter, counseling, and other basic needs to those who need temporary assistance in the greater Omaha area.

SCHEDULE & ARRIVAL TIME: 
Team meets first and third Thursdays of the month | 5–6 PM 

TIME COMMITMENT:
2–5 hours per week (meetings and client follow up) 

LENGTH OF COMMITMENT:
After shadowing an existing team member for two months, a one-year commitment is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review assigned benevolence applications, typically 3–5 per month.

  • Seek the leading of the Holy Spirit through prayer.

  • Make initial contact with the applicant within two business days to ask additional questions (as needed).

  • Consult with references, the CCC staff member who met with applicant, and/or other Benevolence team members and determine the best way to assist the applicant. 

  • Use Benevolence Guide guidelines to determine types and levels of assistance available.

  • Team members should maintain a high level of confidentiality and be able to be objective while also using gifts of mercy, compassion, and discernment.

Oil Change Ministry Team

The Oil Change Ministry is a means for CCC to reach out to single, divorced or widowed, senior women of our congregation, as well as others in the community, who face financial difficulties and need basic car maintenance. 

SCHEDULE & ARRIVAL TIME: 
First and third Saturdays of the month (excluding holiday weekends) | 8–11 AM 

TIME COMMITMENT:
Serve a minimum of one Saturday per month 

LENGTH OF COMMITMENT:
After initial shadowing, a six-month commitment is desired.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform inspections on vehicle.

  • Change oil and filter.

  • Change wiper blades and light bulbs if needed.

  • Communicate any additional concerns about the vehicle to the owner.

Library Team

The CCC library team provides key resources for all congregants that can help them grow in their faith. The library is located just inside the kids entrance to the left (south) and is full of resources that are maintained and tracked through an online software system.

SCHEDULE & ARRIVAL TIME: 
Sundays | 8:30–11:15 AM

TIME COMMITMENT:
Serve once or twice a month after services or be available for special cleaning and maintenance projects.

LENGTH OF COMMITMENT:
Six-month commitment desired.

HOW TO JOIN:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist those entering the library when needed.

  • Check in/out books through the online software system.

  • Restock returned books.

  • "Read" books: look to out of place books, especially in children's section, adjusting books to line up at the same time. 

  • Help with maintenance and cleaning projects as able.

  • Assist with the summer reading program. 

Funeral Team

The funeral team exists to help create a welcoming environment for families as they grieve and celebrate the life of a loved one. 

SCHEDULE & ARRIVAL TIME: 
Varies

TIME COMMITMENT:
Serve 1–3 times per month for 2–6 hours.

LENGTH OF COMMITMENT:
Six-month commitment desired.

HOW TO JOIN:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist and direct vendors and guests as they arrive for funeral and/or reception.

  • Help coordinator with other tasks as needed

Weekday Reception Team

The receptionist team is key in creating a welcoming environment to callers and individuals who walk through the doors of CCC. The role will interact with staff regularly and play a key role in connecting those in need with on-call staff. 

SCHEDULE & ARRIVAL TIME: 
Varies

TIME COMMITMENT:
Serve regularly 1­–2 hours weekly or fill in as needed when our primary receptionist is performing other duties or is out of the office.

LENGTH OF COMMITMENT:
Six-month commitment desired.

HOW TO JOIN:

  • Answer phones and direct calls.

  • Assist in-person guests by notifying staff of their arrival or directing them to their meeting room.
