We Do Life Together

Community with other believers helps us follow and become more like Jesus. We want to help you find the type of group that’s best for you. Some people need friendship and Bible study partners; others are looking for healing and support during times of trouble.

Read the various group descriptions below and click “Learn More” to find the type of group that fits you best.

01

Join A Community Group

Community Groups do life together. They meet regularly for fellowship, study, and prayer. They serve one another and often worship together as well. Some Community Groups meet at CCC and many meet in houses throughout the broader Omaha and Council Bluffs area.

Relationships
and life transformation are the primary purposes of Community Groups.

02

Attend A Renewal Group

Renewal Groups help people get on a pathway to healing and wholeness, particularly after a crisis. Some are short-term groups, while others provide ongoing support. These groups meet at CCC.

Healing
and support are the primary purposes of Renewal Groups.

03

Lead a group

Group leaders have the privilege of creating environments that nurture life-giving relationships as people experience community. Groups serve as catalysts for lifestyle practices for every believer, moving them toward wholeness and transformational change. As a group leader, you walk alongside adults as they take their next steps toward Jesus. You can take your own next step by completing the Group Leader application. A member of the Adult Ministries Team will connect with you to provide more information and coaching.

How do I find a group that’s right for me?

Stop by the Connect area in the Atrium on Sunday to talk with one of our Connection Specialists. They will ask some questions and help you find a great fit. Alternatively, use the “Learn More” buttons above and visit a group to try it on for size!

What do Community Groups do when they meet?

Community Groups include times of worship, Bible study, serving together, and inviting new people in. At regular group meetings, most Community Groups include a combination of fellowship, Bible study, prayer, and encouragement. Some follow the sermon series discussion guides; others choose a book or a topic. Ask the specific Community Group leader for more information.

What do my kids do while I attend a Community Group?

Many families with kids younger than twelve participate in Deeper, our family discipleship program on Wednesday nights. To learn more and sign up, click here.

On other nights of the week, some of our at-home Community Groups offer on-site childcare. For more information, ask the leader of the group you are interested in.

When is the best time to find a group?

Many Community Groups are open for new members in January and August, so those months are often the best time to search. During the summer, most groups take a temporary break, so look for a short-term group or attend a Summer Mixer.

How do I start my own group?

All group leaders must be members of CCC. If you’re not already a member, taking CCC 101 is a great place to start! To learn more and register for 101, click here.

After you take 101, or if you’re already a member, talk with one of our Adult Ministries Team staff about the group you envision. We're happy to help!
