Every parent asks, "Am I doing a good job?" This is especially true as their children enter adolesence.  Hopefully, this interview with Dr. Tripp will help you think through your success markers and maybe realign things if that's needed.  You may not agree with everything he says, but I think you'll find it worth your time to read and process. Enjoy the article!

Sixers Wednesday Begins!!

Next Wednesday, September 9th, is the big day for Sixers Wednesday to begin.  Students have been signing up for small groups over the past few weeks on Sunday mornings so we have a good number of students already.  If your student will not been able to sign up before Sept. 9, they are still welcome to come and we'll connect them with a small group.  We're planning on adding more than a few to the small groups on that first night!

Here are a few details to keep in mind:
  • Sixers begins at 6:30 and ends at 8:00
  • Students should come to the Sixers Room (FLC 141 across from the gym) to sign in before going to the gym
  • There is no cost to be in Sixers and friends are always welcome!
We're excited for the Sixers small groups to launch and we're anticipating great things from God in the students' lives!  If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at davei@cccomaha.org or call me at 938-1537.

The New Year is HERE!

This coming Sunday is August 23.  While most people do not celebrate it as such, it is the beginning of a new year because the Sixers 09-10 year begins this day!  We're looking forward to meeting the new 6th grade class and getting to know them this year.   As we start, here's a few details you might want to know...
  1. Sixers Sunday meets at 9:00am in EC 188 which is across from the chapel (to the left as you come in the main atrium doors).  There's no sign-up or sign-in procedure for this program.  You may also want to have a "what to do when Sixers is over" plan since the students will be free to leave when we're done.
  2. Sixers Wednesday will begin on September 9.  This is our small group program and does have a sign-up process (no fees are involved).  The students will have the chance to sign up for small groups on Sunday, August 23, 30 and September 6.  If they miss all those Sundays, they can still sign up on September 9.  After September 9, they can still come on Wednesdays but they will not have as much freedom to choose which group they are put in.
We're praying and hoping for great things this year in Sixers.  Please join us in asking God's Spirit to do a great work.  If you have any quesitons or concerns, please feel free to call me at 402-938-1537 or email me at davei@cccomaha.org

Movin' on up!

It's almost over!  The 2008-2009 Sixers group is coming to a close.  Sunday, May 31 will be the last official meeting for Sixers this year.

On June 3, the Old Mill campus will host the Movin' Up Party to welcome the new class into the Herd (this will be on June 7 for the Sarpy campus).  Please see the calendar for more details.

Current 6th grade students at both campuses will begin attending WIRED on Sunday, June 7.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to drop me an email or give me a call.  We're here to serve you!
