Some Mountaintop Insights from St. Bebee

Some people may wonder what may drive a college student. Could it be fame, or fortune, or some unknown strange biochemical reaction that drive them to do the things they do? Most likely, yes. Motives aside, last weekend 17 college students drove 10 hours to Mt. Bierstadt to hike 5000 feet in 24 or so hours.
When you first arrive in the mountains, not just seeing them through the dever smog, you get an amazing sense of being rather small and insignificant. The majesty and grandeur of the mountains is overwhelming and it takes your breath away. (or maybe that was just the altitiude)As we hiked into our campsite on friday, God’s glory countinued to be displayed, mile after mile. As I began to tire, this feeling slipped by the way side and I found my self slipping into an attitude. It was so easy to see so much of what God has created and then begin to write it off as normal or expected. I expected to see this, I expected God to work how I wanted him to, and I expected God to keep the group safe.
It is so easy to fall into a bit of a rut in your relationship with Jesus, and just get used to what usually happens. However, our, my life should be one of constant praise and communication with God. Seeing the granduer of the mountains doesnt hold a candle to the value of a human being which i can write off as a lost cause. Step back and think a minute today. Thank God for what he has done and continues to do in your life. Just talk to Him.
Oh, and go climb a mountain, it’s amazing!

North O Service Project

Thanks to everyone who showed up to serve our city on Saturday! There is something very right about a church serving its city. We had a great time hacking away with chain saws, machetes, weed whackers and sheers, cleaning up beer bottles, broken beds, and bags of trash, not to mention catching all the gardener snakes that were inhabiting the overgrown lots!
