The Reason For God by Tim Keller was written for two types of people: people who have doubts about Christianity and Christians who have people whom they’d like to be able to share their faith with in a more thought-out, intelligent way. Keller takes several common doubts for the existence of God and deals with them individually in a respectful way. He then lays out several “clues” for God and concludes with why, when you look at what Christianity really asserts, it makes more sense of the life we see around us than anything else. Keller takes some pretty weighty philosophical and theological topics and puts them on them on the bottom shelf. This is an easy read with some great depth.

Vintage Jesus by Mark Driscoll and Gerry Breshears takes a refreshing, culturally relevant view at some of the most fundamental Christian beliefs about who Jesus is. I get a kick out of Driscoll’s humor and his adamant refusal to cloak any of his thoughts in religious jargon. It’s as entertaining as it is insightful and is a great book highlighting the radical nature of Jesus’ life and teaching.

The Cote d’Ivoire team is back in Omaha. Here is Stephen’s last post from the team blog:
Thank you so much for your prayers for the team and our ministry here. It has been such a blessing and encouragement to know that we have been being lifted up in prayer. Please continue to pray that God would use the Farho’s and their ministry here in Cote d’Ivoire as well as the other ministries here that we have been privileged to be able to be a part of. It has been so neat to see how God’s kingdom is advancing here. I think I speak for all of us when I say that we disappointed to leave, but are encouraged by the ministries we have seen. Thank you so much for your continued prayers! -Stephen
I’ll have some pictures of the trip on the media page soon. Untill then, check out David Bebee’s facebook albums for trip photos.
