Pulling the Plug on the Virtual Choir (for now)

Screen Shot 2012-11-30 at 4.48.54 PM“In writing, you must kill all your darlings.” -William Faulkner

Over the years, Faulkner’s quote has evolved into almost every facet of life. Nowadays, the saying is “kill your babies”. Obviously, it doesn’t mean to kill a baby. It’s putting to death something that is special to you. Are you willing to put to death something you have invested into even if it means you’ll be better off for doing so?

I thought of this as we made the decision to pull the plug on the Virtual Choir. Was it disappointing? Of course, but it was the right decision. Here’s some background with it. (more…)

CCC & Instagram

Instagram is a favorite app for many. People share moments and memories with it. Many of us staff post to Instagram on a consistent basis.

Now, Christ Community Church has an Instagram account setup. What we hope to do with it is capture some of the wonderful moments that happen here.

Find us on Instagram at “cccomaha”. Our Instagram pics will also post to a Tumblr we have set up if you’d prefer to follow that.

Project 4:4 – What You Missed

Greg Nunamaker, CCC’s Web Manager and all-around creative guy, produced another animated Project 4:4 recap. An amazing job by Greg, once again. Here are both animated recaps he has created this year.

Upcoming Podcast Changes

For a numbers of years we’ve had a variety of Christ Community Church podcasts available. It all started out with not much thought about future growth, and integration with our resources, but rather it was about getting the content out there in the public. Over the years, we’ve been building upon a system that was not designed for what it  has turned into.

We’ve decided to start from scratch with our podcasts so they’ll be integrated better with our systems. Also, it’ll be easier for various ministries to upload them personally.

Over the next few days and weeks, you may notice a few interruptions with our various podcasts. Please be patient with us. I would advise if you are concerned about missing our audio or video message podcasts to download our CCC app. It’s free from iTunes and Android Market. Our message content from the past 18 months is available for free, anytime and anywhere, through the app.

By July, we should have all our podcasts (Message, Project 4:4, Gathering, 8:08, High School and Guest Speakers) up and running again.

If you have any questions, please email us.

What is the Meaning of Life? [VIDEO]

I really enjoyed the creative piece for “The Meaning of Life” message today, at the Old Mill and Online Campuses. It was shot in the Old Market, an area in downtown Omaha, NE. People walked by the whiteboard, and in their own expressive ways answered the question of “What is the meaning of life?”

Rock the Temple, CCC Music, and Create your own Psalm

This past Sunday, at the Old Mill and Online Campuses, we had services focusing on the musical aspect of worship. From all accounts, it was a fantastic experience for everyone. God was glorified through the diverse musical styles. (more…)
